I like many mystery stories and everything related to paranormal facts, which for many scientists still do not have a probable explanation. I've always wondered why some people can see or feel what others do not even imagine?
Since I was a child I have been interested in these issues and more because I know people who have lived experiences of this type. One of those people is my maternal grandmother.
She tells me that when she was young she used to ride a horse to go in search of water on the banks of a river located approximately 2 hours away from the town where she lived. My grandmother was fascinated by going to this place in the company of her sisters, because in addition to being a very beautiful place I could pick flowers on her banks of many colors and rich fruits.
For many years she went to this place but on her way I always felt a little afraid when I passed an abandoned house where the story is told a family died burned while they slept.
One day while my grandmother slept, she dreamed that her horse had run away while her body lay slumped on the ground. When she got up, my grandmother, a little nervous, told her mother about the dream, but she told him: "Do not worry, daughter, it was just a dream".
With these words my grandmother felt calmer, and as every day she went out in search of water.
My grandmother and her sisters came to the river, collected the water and prepared to enjoy themselves while they bathed in the river, the truth is that they were very late and when they realized it was about to get dark. They mounted their horses but when they were arriving at the abandoned house the horses became nervous as if they felt a presence, suddenly the metal doors and the windows began to sound and even crying inside the house they managed to listen, unfortunately my grandmother fell from the horse receiving a strong blow to the head that left her unconscious.
That was the last thing my grandmother knew, since that day she did not return to the river, her horse never appeared.
After this event my grandmother continued to see in her dreams things that were going to happen to her, that is why I believe in premonitions and today I want to tell you a little about these facts.
What is a premonition?
In Latin is where the etymological origin of the term premonition is found. In particular, it derives from the word "praemonitio", which can be translated as "warning". A premonition, which refers to a fact that is yet to happen, and that for some mysterious reason, the person can usually capture through their dreams.
Scientists do not agree on the phenomenon of premonitions, nor do they know what is due or what factors can accentuate it. They classify this as a paranormal fact, or they attribute it to chance, without taking it too much into account. A probable explanation, it could be that for the unconscious there is no linear time.
Why do some people have premonitions and others do not?
It happens, that by nature, there are those who are more in contact with the right hemisphere of the brain, which is what governs the symbolic, intuitive, creative, and therefore have more facility or tendency to connect with an invisible and non-tangible reality, which the rest of the people.
It also facilitates this openness to receive a more permissive education in that sense, in which it is part of "normality" and is not considered a fantasy or object of ridicule and rejection by parents or other adults. In many cases in which there is a marked perception, such as premonitions, the faculties of one of the parents or grandparents, who have already developed this ability, have been inherited.
Were they taken into account in Antiquity?
If we look back, both in the Old and New Testaments, there are numerous examples of premonitions, especially through dreams, or symbolic facts or perceptions. The dream that Abraham Lincoln had a few days before he was murdered, in which he looked like a present body, after the crime was perpetrated, is well known.
In some cultures certain rituals were used, often accompanied by specific substances to provoke another state of consciousness, during which transcendent information was received. In these cases it was something sought after and there was someone who took care of it, being instructed by an ancestor or having birth skills for it. He used to be the shaman, sorcerer, fortune-teller, magician ... depending on the cultures or the time.
In earlier times much more credibility was given to this circumstance, almost blindly trusting the person designated to predict events or give important information that would be useful. Even if the premonition came without looking for it, from someone not prepared for it, it was usually attended to as well.
Dreams and premonitions.
While we are asleep, phenomena related to unknown aspects occur, which in some way facilitate the entrance to other realities or states.
Most premonitions are interconnected with dreams. The language of them is subject to a personal code, is metaphorical and complicated to interpret. It is usually difficult to distinguish whether it is a common dream or something that is going to happen.
Some people feel that difference very clearly and are able to recognize them, although most of them only see the dream confirmed later, when the event occurs. In both cases, guilt should never appear for having had a premonition and not having managed to prevent a previously announced misfortune, since it is seldom possible to avoid or not depend on a single person if the facts do not occur.
There are realms of life that are all around us, vibrations that ripple through everything that is. We are all part of this vibration. There is no reason premonition could exist. Great read thank you.
