[Science Trends #3] First Private Citizen to Circle Moon on SpaceX Flight

Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa will be the first SpaceX rider to circlearound the moon. He also plans to invite as many as eight artist to join him including painters, photographers, musicians, film directors, fashion designers and architects.

Maezawa said, 'They will be asked to create something after they return to earth. These masterpieces will inspire the dreamer within all of us'.

He also offered a seat on the vehicle to the rocket company's founder Elon Musk.

SpaceX Big Falcon Rocket is still in developmental stage. It will make several unmanned test launches before it takes on passengers. The reusable 387-foot rocket will have its own dedicated passenger ship.

The mission is set for takeoff in 2023. The duration of trip will be 4-5 days.  And the project cost will be around $5 billion.
