A slump that injured over 1,200 people and destroyed several buildings up to 93 kilometers from the hit point. flew an asteroid, up to six times greater than that in Tjeljabinsk, past the earth at a distance half as far as it to the moon. A close collision that could have caused great destruction.
Hard to detect
The clock was around eight o'clock in Sweden when the spacecraft passed 192,000 kilometers from the ground. But the space stone was not discovered until 21 hours earlier by astronomers on the Catalina Sky Survey, a project supported by Nasa, dedicated solely to detecting objects that are near the earth.
How often do asteroids fly so close to the earth?
- Almost once a year. 192 000 kilometers are still quite far away from the earth, considering the size of the earth. But we should really take a closer look at asteroids of this size.
How can we protect ourselves from this?
- Firstly, we need more information. We need to be able to warn for asteroids much earlier than we can today. There are various actions that keep track of asteroids, such as Catalina Sky Survey. The problem is that you need bigger telescopes to see smaller asteroids.

yes it has taken seriously but what about the people who does not know about it. Somehow that will inspire them to follow this knowlegde and study what science is doing with this issues.
