Obviously they are not exempted. But "truth" (a tricky word given that it's a wholly subjective "thing") is often a paradox, not a black or white thing. Evolution is undeniable, yet that doesn't mean we were not created by a higher intelligence (even other species), actually you can find lots of evidence to support it, same as you can find tons of evidence dismantling Darwinism.
