These days, when it comes to science, I feel like a lot has been discovered. Enough, basically. I don't think there's much left to bother knowing. Maybe a hundred years from now, sure, we'll have the tech to appreciate some new form of physics or something. But for now, I'm tired of it. I know some scientific people will say the opposite, but here's the thing:
I just want to appreciate things. I'm tired of the facts, the studies, the research. I want to just be content with animals and people now, and let them do their thing. Humans are a troublesome species. I don't need to know every detail of every thing.
All this study is getting tiresome. Even a bit creepy, if we include studies on humans. To be honest, I don't even approve of sociology. It feels like it's not even real science, considering how it'll be used: Politics and advertising. That's the real application, isn't it?
It's not like I'm gonna pretend to be naive, and you shouldn't either. That's what capitalism does to science. It takes something fun to learn about, and makes sure you also make money from the utilization of that information, and if you know how groups of people operate, then the next step is to apply that knowledge by manipulating them.
You didn't invent this science, so don't take it personally, but that's my take on essentially any research done these days. Everything and everyone needs to be "useful," instead of just being enjoyed. Every little resource needs to be extracted and inserted into the economic machine, and to me, a person who was once incredibly scientific that doesn't hold much interest.
So what I do is use what facts already exist to learn about how animals live, and then use those facts to write poetry and essays about why these natural things are beautiful, pure, and true.
I make a little money, but not nearly as much money as I could if I really put my mind to it, but if I put my mind to it, I might end up hurting this beautiful Earth, and the little creatures that live upon it.
And I would just prefer to leave these creatures alone. Humans too.
I seek peace and cohesion. A sense of community with all life on Earth.
Don't you?
Seems we have to learn science, logic and critical thinking just to stay ahead of people who try to manipulate us. Maybe if we get centered and satisfied being a part of nature, we'll have less exploitable needs, many of which were just invented to get us to conform.
