To introduce myself,
My name is John O'Hara. I am 28 years old and in my last semester of college for Geographical Information Systems and Technology, aka GIS, and Anthropology with a concentration in Archaeology.
I've been trading cryptocurrencies for three years now. I love the crypto community. There is a whole new world here. The ideas I have seen created through our community are so varied and unique. At first, I didn't think there was a chance crypto would ever creep into my niche. Three years later, I can see that anything is possible with the right combination of attributes in a Cryptocurrency company/coin's development team. I want this to be a place where like-minded individuals (GIS Technology, , Remote Sensing, Maps and Graphs, Anthropology, Crypto-enthusiasts alike) can come together and create something useful, and beautiful.
I hope to contribute to our community with something like "CryptoWorld", or a partnership with someone like Geocoin, and create maps and graphs for people to easily search for local bitcoin vendors, Cryptocurrency ATMs, and any other "CryptoHubs" that may come to fruition in the future. CryptoHubs and their data would be represented using ESRI's ArcMap and Remote Sensing software such as ERDAS Imagine. Using these programs we can tailor make maps to meet people's individual needs. And the needs of companies who are looking to promote their coin, or Geographical data on where the source of the ICO you're investing in is located. Or a platform for hardware wallet/localbitcoins.com/paper wallet users can have real time data on each other's geographic position during a meet up. This could make it safer and more inviting for people to use these services.
To be effective and have a good foundation to our team, ethnographic research could be conducted to find out areas of the world where cryptocurrencies (even down to which coin is used in most areas) could provide data for analysis and eventual marketing. Researching bitcoin as an aspect of culture would be a worldwide effort. It is absolutely having an effect on the individual and the decisions they make in society now, and will be affecting society as a whole in the future. I have talked to many people in college who used to be suspicious of bitcoin and are now endorsing it.
Let's change the world! Cheers!
John O.
