Grand Solar Minimum: Sierra Nevada In California Will Get 108 Inches (274 cm) Of Snow In The Next 10 Days

in #science7 years ago (edited)

The Sierra Nevada Mountains in California will get pummeled for the next 10 days. Here is the precipitation map from Windy.com:

Comment: The red color is about 9 feet of snow and this will basically affect the whole mountain range. So, if you are in the area to ski, you will get one helluva ride.

To give you an idea how much it could snow in this area, last year Squaw Valley received 700 inches (or 17.7 meters) for the whole season. That was the second highest ever. The record is still 810 inches.
