Humans just evolved their way of doing things. The intentions still the same. My father maternal great grandfather is from the headhunter tribe. I'm grateful that now they don't practice the violence anymore. But as your article mentioned, they do it more civilized subtle way possible. Hats off to the modern warriors that bravely stand firmly on their point of view.
