Hi everyone, my intention is to fascinate more people in the fascinating world of physics, so I decided to alternate a post like this, to show everyone that physics is at the reach of everyone, if they know the basics well, with a more complex post, with fascinating and deep arguments, such as supermassive gravity, string theory, black holes, or temporal paradoxes. I hope it can be useful.
The Mks system draws its name from the initials of the three measure units of the mechanical quantities in it adopted:
The meter(M) for the lenght.
The kilogram (Kg) for the mass.
The second (S) for the time intervals.
This system was obviously incomplete, as there are no units of measurement of fundamental electrical or magnetic magnitude, in fact, subsequent extensions were made by introducing a fourth unit.
Depending on whether the fourth fundamental magnitude was:
The electric charge (unit of measurement: coulomb, C)
The electrical resistance (unit of measurement: Ohm, Ω)
Intensity of current (unit of measurement: Ampere, A)
Were introduced the three mksC, mksΩ and mksA systems.
The last one, completed with the three units of temperature (kelvin, K), of light intensity (candle, cd) and quantity of substance (mole, mol) is what goes under the name of the International System.
The units of the three mksC, mksΩ and mksA systems are perfectly coincident because they differ from each other only for the choice of the fundamental electrical magnitude to be associated with the three mechanical quantities.
I wouldn't use the Ohm as a base unit as it is not measurable - it is the ratio V/I.
