What are greenhouse gases?
The global warming of the Earth causes a phenomenon called global warming. The global problem is the greenhouse gases or greenhouse gases produced by human activities.
The greenhouse gases produced by man are gases that absorb infrared radiation and are found in the atmosphere, mainly: "carbon dioxide"; the main cause of this phenomenon, as well as "methane", "nitrogen oxides" and chlorofluorocarbons. Carbon dioxide is a compound consisting of two oxygen atoms, a carbon atom (CO2) and a mass of 44.01 g / mol, a solid-state gas called dry ice.
It is a colorless and odorless gas, its linear form is linear, where the carbon atom is in the center and the oxygen atoms around it are linked to each other by a binary bond. This gas is produced by combustion of fossil fuels and organic matter, and is found in the atmosphere. It is used by plants in photosynthesis, the product of respiration of living organisms, one of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming, and is also produced in the chemical and fermentation industries, which is produced by volcanoes. Increasing industrial activities are leading to an increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, exacerbating the problem of global warming.
Methane is an odorless hydrocarbon compound CH4, a component of natural gas. Its combustion produces carbon dioxide, one of the greenhouse gases. Its effect on heating the atmosphere is greater than that of carbon dioxide, with a mass of 16.042 g / mol. It is obtained during extraction of fossil fuels, and is also produced in swamps and seabed because of the presence of natural gas there. It is produced from the decomposition of waste by some types of bacteria, and is frequent in agricultural activities. It is the simplest hydrocarbon compounds and can be manufactured. It enters into several interactions as its interaction with the elements of the seventh group "halogens" in a substitution reaction. And bring in useful vehicles, and enter the plastics industry, and is also burned - for energy.
Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are: a compound containing several elements, namely the chlorine Cl and the fluorine F, these are the components of the G7 and finally contain the carbon element C, a component of group IV. These gases are used in air conditioning and refrigeration, the symbol "CFC", which is one of the greenhouse gases harmful, and cause these gases hole in the ozone layer and therefore prevented its use in many countries. It is very harmful to health; inhaling it at high rates leads to death. These gases are odorless and non-toxic. In order to avoid the damage of these gases to the ozone layer, HFCs have been used as an alternative, the latter being dechlorinated.
Nitrogen oxides are oxygen atoms associated with nitrogen atoms, including NO, N2O, and NO2. These oxides have several natural sources, including human activity; such as the degradation of compounds in the soil by bacteria, lightning, fuel combustion, power plants and others.
These greenhouse gases are harmful to the atmosphere and the ozone layer, causing global warming, acid rain, global warming, climate change, changes in the agricultural and animal environment, and human disease due to the presence of ultraviolet and ultraviolet radiation on the Earth's surface.
