This is a serious problem. we should be more careful when clicking on any links not just here on steemit but anywhere on internet.
Two thing come to mind when verifying the authenticity
- Source (making sure that who has provided the said link and is the source is authentic ? )
- Checking the link URL (https:// mark and site name)
In any case
if you don't trust it then don't click on it.
