How important is intercession in the spiritual battle?

Each intercessor in a spiritual battle appears before God in favor of others to avoid judgment. Such is the case of the prophet Ezekiel narrated in chapter 22:30.

And I searched among them for a man who made a fence and stood in the gap in front of me, in favor of the earth, so that he would not destroy it; And i didn't find it

It was a very sad day in the history of Israel when God commanded Ezekiel to prophesy against the sins of Jerusalem, stating that he had no choice but to judge the earth. This chapter describes such a shameful condition that God Himself finally shouts: "Enough is enough!" Then the Lord makes a surprising pronouncement: this could have been avoided if only one had come before his presence to intercede on behalf of the earth. He succinctly declared: "I looked for that man!"

The biblical quote says: "And I looked for man among them ... stand in the gap in front of me, in favor of the earth." This clearly identifies this passage with an intercession. No phrase in Scripture describes the work of an intercessor with greater certainty than the phrase "before me, in favor of". The intercessor always comes "before God, in favor" of others.

It is also significant that the intercessor has a double responsibility. Not only does it "close", which suggests that it not only restores the gap caused by the enemy, but "enters" the gap, that is, stops its progress.
