Reflexión #3
Wearing captive all thought
Our way of living is a reflection of what we think of daily. If we wake up in the morning thinking that we are sad, that we are in depression, our day will be a reflection of what we thought that morning.
We are constantly bombarded by our emotions, by our feelings. That is why I want to talk about the impact that our thoughts have on our emotional, sentimental and spiritual life and how it can affect the fulfillment of our calling.
Many times I have meditated on the verse in Matthew 22:14 which says: "Many are called but few are chosen" and I have come to understand that we are all called to have a personal communion and an intimate relationship with Jesus. we have been called to accept; embrace salvation But to fully fulfill that call, a personal response and a decision for that call is necessary, leaving behind the negative that we can think of ourselves.
I have known people with so much potential with impressive abilities and talents that they have not been able to develop and who are stuck in their way of thinking, by assuming certain thoughts that have become part of their reality.
It is impossible to live a life in fullness with JESUS with joy, with peace, with rest when we think otherwise, it is impossible to live a life with joy when our thoughts are of depression and sadness, a life in peace when our thoughts are of concern or stress, or a life of love, when our thoughts are of hatred, of resentment, of anger.
1 Corinthians 10: 4-5 (NIV) says: The weapons we fight with are not of the world, but they have the divine power to tear down strongholds. We destroy the arguments and all the arrogance that is raised against the knowledge of God, and we take captive all the thoughts so that they are submitted to Christ.
I love the last words of this verse that says: "And we take captive all thoughts to submit ourselves to Christ." That means that you and I have the ability to control what we think. We have to stop feeding and embrace those thoughts and stop walking as if it were a reality, the negative that takes over our minds and what the word of the children of God does not say. It is necessary to learn and know how to identify what thoughts are of God and those that are not of God. It is very important to align our thoughts with the Word of God, that is why it is very important that each day we read, meditate and proclaim and declare about our life.
In the midst of so many thoughts of death, of sadness, of not being enough, of rejection, we have to stop and stand firm on the foundations of Jesus Christ and his word and begin to live the promises that He has for our lives.
