Today I would love to talk about a topic I tittled; Grace to do exploits. We as Christians may have all heard this phrase at one particular time or the other but do we really understand what it entails? Do we know the extent of our abilities as Christians?
If we did not know before hand, now is another opportunity to know and this would serve as a reminder to those of us who already know this.
First let us get to know our keywords before they are infused in a sentence and understand how one helps the other.
Grace has been defined, not as a created substance of any kind, but as "the love and mercy given to us by God because God desires us to have it, not necessarily because of anything we have done to earn it","Grace is favour, the free and undeserved help that God gives us to respond to his call to become children of God, adoptive sons, partakers of the divine nature and of eternal life".
While exploits is a deed or act; more especially, a heroic act; a deed of renown; a great or noble achievement.
As we can see grace is mercy given to us not because we have earned it but because God desires it, now God is giving is the merciful help to do big and heroic things, he is giving us the grace to do exploits, to exceedingly, to do more than the human mind can comprehend, more than you think of. Hallelujah!!!!
The Bible teaches clearly that we are saved by grace - Eph.2: 8-9
We are not just saved by grace, we are kept by grace & do all we do simply by the grace of God.
Grace has been defined as unmerited favour but much more, grace is divine enablement.
This divine enablement could be seen in the life of Peter & John in particular & all the disciples in the Early Church generally after Pentecost.
The Bible says, Grace was upon them all in that church By this grace:
- They preached the word of God boldly
- Miracles were performed
- Many souls were converted & saved
- They were united
5.No threat or suffering could stop them
This people no doubts, through God's Grace did exploits for God
The Grace of God simply took them beyond every limit of the flesh & made the power of the Holy Spirit available to them. God by the help & power of His Holy Spirit enabled them to do what they could not have done ordinarily by themselves
The big lesson here is that there is no limit to anyone covered & functioning under God's Grace! Such people would say like Paul in Phil.4:13 that – "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me."
We also can get this Grace of God to take us beyond our limits to do great exploits for God.
To enjoy this grace, we must;
- dedicate & totally commit to Christ & His work – Deut.6: 4-5
- give to prayer – Jam.5: 16b
- be full of faith. They believed The Lord & trusted Him absolutely –Acts 6: 3; Heb.11:6
- fully obedient to God's word & commands – 1Sam.15: 22-23; 2Cor.10: 4-5
- holy & intolerant of sin – Ps.15: 1-5; Matt.5:8
When we religiously follow all these things we would be able to have Great grace to do Great exploits. God is willing to give us the grace to do exploits, we just have to be willing and allow ourselves be used as vessels to do great things.
Shalom!!!!
