Wow, i'v heard of horse sashimi but I'v never tried it. I'v had beef sashimi before, how does it compare in texture and taste? Have you ever had donkey meat before? I wonder how cooked horse would taste compared to donkey (never had donkey sashimi but i'v had cooked donkey).

Sorry for the late reply! It was actually amazing! I’ve neber had donkey before but would definitely be down to try! Where did you get it? If you wanna see something mindblowing man you gotta scope this out. F770A391-6809-4380-B853-3ACADD544973.jpeg

Emu sashimi! Crazy right!?

The texture and taste varies because it’s from multiple parts. We had the heart, brisket, roast, loin and the fatty portion from the back of the neck all with different flavors.

Wow that's quite something! I'd love to try it someday, hopefully I'll get the chance. There's a chain in China that does donkey meat sandwiches. They cook buns in a firery hot stone oven and then chop up a chunk of donkey with a glob of fat and stuff it in. Donkey is a tough, chewy and dry meat so they slow cook the meat for a really long time in a flavorful broth and then have to cut it with some fat to moisten it up. It's a bit salty and has a strong flavor and even stronger smell but it's quite delicious.

That is so awesome! Where in china? I have a friend in guanzhou (not sure if I spelled it correctly 😅) where donyou reccomend I got try it? It’s been my dream to travel across China.

I'v seen it a lot in Chengdu but being a chain I figure you could probably find it in most big cities.
