10 Signs That a Church Needs to Be Saved or Evangelized... (I know, I could write a book)

10 Signs that a church needs to be saved or evangelized.

  1. They celebrate the Easter holiday even though they know that it is a pagan holiday and The Lord continually tells His people through out the Bible that they are not to participate in pagan traditions. (a few Scripture examples: Exodus 23:24; Deuteronomy 12:29-31; Judges 2:19; 2 Kings 17:11; Revelation 2:6)
  2. They encourage parents to lie to their children about Santa bringing them gifts, etc. and even though The Lord says " ...you must not tell lies, and you must not deal falsely with your fellow citizen" (Lev. 19:11) and The One Who Sits on the Throne said that "...all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur..." (Revelation 21:8).
  3. The nursery workers complain that they have to babysit when even Satanists, Communists, Nazis, Islamic terrorists, etc., know that the most important generation to mold is the children, etc. How much more babies and children thrive when they have people who love them and care about them looking over them and praying The Lord's will for them. When my children were nursery age, I was a stay at home mother. I realized that if I heard someone complaining that they had nursery class that meant they didn't want the responsibility and probably were not going to appreciate being with my children as much as I did. I did not want anyone taking care of my children who looked at my children as a horrible burden to bear. So, I started finding out who was in the nursery that day and if it was someone that I thought would not be good for my children, I didn't take them back that day. Just because people expect you to do something with your family/children, doesn't mean that is the best choice. Those are your children, don't be afraid to stand up against the norm to keep them protected and loved. (Psalm 127:3)
  4. The worship team is not there to lead people into a state of worship but to show off their talents and perform in front of an audience. My teenage daughters witnessed a worship leader treating a newer addition (a young teenager) to his team embarrassingly rude one day as they practiced before church. I don't remember what he said to the young man right now but, it was completely uncalled for, especially since the young man wasn't a seasoned "performer". It's truly okay, if the Sonday (Sunday) church production has a few mess ups, as people are growing and learning. I would rather someone take a chance at improving a worship song in The Lord's anointing and it sound a little off then play the song exactly as the music sheet says and never have the anointing of The Lord's presence touch it. (Psalm 100)
  5. The pastor is not open for correction and anyone who approaches the pastor in such a way is rejected, no matter how much love they use when approaching the pastor. They tell the congregation not to listen to The Holy Spirit, only listen to them. They forget the veil was torn so that we could have access to The Father personally. (Ephesians 5:21, Revelation 1:6)
  6. The leaders think the only way to get people to come to church is by giving them coffee and donuts. (Which actually may give a temporary spike in energy but causes a congregation to get tired before church is over causing lots of sleepy people to not pay attention to that message.) I am glad that others are starting to realize that coffee is an idol for lots of Christians. I stopped drinking regular caffeinated coffee years ago when I realized that I was liking it too much and it was becoming an addiction. I like many people had drank it since I was a child but I am just not interested in being addicted to things or having idols in my life. I really want to treat my body right. Let's be good examples to each other. Of course, I am not saying anything is wrong with drinking coffee but is your thought process anything like this: "I can't live without Coffee!" "I would die without Coffee." "I crave Coffee." "I couldn't imagine my life without Coffee."? These are all indications of Addiction and Idolatry. If you really stop to think about it, Addiction sets us up to be selfish. (1 Corinthians 6:19)
  7. And the congregation only comes to church to drink coffee, eat donuts, and hang out. They don't really want to celebrate The Lord or anything "spiritual". This is great to the leadership because they don't want to confront any serious issues or get too deep spiritually, and just want everyone to get along or at least act like they like each other. This keeps church from getting "messy". (Matthew 18:15-17,Revelation 21:8)
  8. People who give more money are treated better and get more privileges than those that give less and have less to give. (James 2:2-4)
  9. The leaders of the church know about demons and sometimes secretly cast them out behind the scenes but wouldn't dare educate their church about them because people might get scared and leave and they don't want to lose anyone because they want to feel like a hot shot with a big following. (Luke 20:46)
    And last for now,
  10. Jezebel is allowed to come in and do pretty much whatever she/he wants, is not reprimanded for starting crap, tearing apart relationships, etc. The Lord was obvious how He felt about Jezebel. (Revelation 2:20)
Sort:

Number 5 is my favorite. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us that the Bible is given to use because we are wrong. Unless a believer is open to the option that they could be wrong, the Bible will not be serving its purpose in their life. Sorry state of "the church" these days. All your points have some good truth in them, and I like 7 and 9 too.

I updated it. I just wanted to let you know in case you didn't agree with it, anymore. I am not sure how Steemit works as far as that. Have a great day, Narrowminded! :D
