On today's run I did something I've not done in a long time. I fell over. I was on a rough track and my foot hit something. Down I went on my hands and knees. I was lucky there were no stinging nettles to add to the pain. As it is I have a few scrapes that will probably be sore for a few days. It could have been worse. I got up and carried on running as I was about half way and needed to get back to work.
I went exploring on this run and tried taking some different paths. I was fairly confident of getting back to where I needed to be. There were some other runners, but they went a different way. You can see they got ahead whilst I was taking pictures.
I ended up doing just on 5km. Pace was okay despite stopping for pictures and my fall.
Part of the route is past a traveller site. There's always lots of rubbish along there. That's never nice to see. There's hardly any on other parts.

Oh dear. Hope the stinging has settled down a bit @steevc.
That path full of rubbish is not very nice. What a shame. 😢
I've had a pretty crap day today so I'm looking forward to starting again tomorrow.
Although I may need a big rethink as to how I want to proceed from here.
Hope you're having a nice relaxing evening. 😊
I'm OK thanks. Hope you feel better
You may be sore for a couple of days. Sorry to hear you fell while running. That is scary when you get older. I am glad you did not break anything.
Hope you won't have to long a pain of it..... I do believe running is dangerous ;)
Good to know it wasn't anything too bad! Hope it heals soon..
Really sad to see all the rubbish in the last pic, but it's actually reminded me that I've been wanting to take my girls out on to nature paths and do rubbish pick ups as a home education project!
Hope you've been well @steevc :)
I posted a while back about 'plogging', which is a combination of litter picking ang jogging. I've yet to get it. This place needs a lot more than that really.
That is an excellent idea. I've seen a few people litter picking as they walk their dogs, I've done it myself. Displaying responsible behaviour and setting a good example. Taking responsibility instead of waiting for paid workers is something we need more of in society in general.
Absolutely!!
Glad to hear you got away with only a few bruices. I've also tripped and fallen, but never really got hurt luckily. Such a sad sight with all the garbage :(
Adventure running! I want to do the same, but I'll have to take my bike to go somewhere I have never been before - hopefully without any bruises.
I'm a little surprised I haven't fallen off the bike yet. I'd rather not break any bones
I only had a few accidents on bike in the 35 years where I have been biking almost every day. Once I had a car door slammed up right in front of me. That was the worst one. Bruises and a bent front wheel. But of course with accidents we never know...
I've had some near misses. I'm very conscious of how vulnerable cyclists are
Proper infrastructure means a lot, but, if we are to believe the researchers also how accustomed the car drivers are to cyclists. In Denmark I feel quite safe biking, but it differs of course from place to place... I looked at youtube and this rather unpleasant video came up.
At least it could be used as evidence.
Nothing can stop a consistent Runner.

See, I knew running was dangerous! That is my excuse now. Too bad that people can't pick up after themselves. It looks like it would be a beautiful area to spend some time roaming.
Get some TCP or better still Iodine, grit your teeth and try not to scream! It doesnt look too bad, especially if you carried on running.
It's just a flesh wound!
Ni!
Hope you didn't fall on the top of that rubbish man!
Wow, that's a lot of garbage along the track! I wonder what people are thinking when they throw away their plastic in such a beautiful place.
You need to perfect the tuck and roll method of falling, which I can't do but my husband can.
I used to do that when doing aikido, but didn't react quickly enough this time
None of these nasty little sharp stones stuck in your hands and knees? I hate those.
No need for tetanus shots?
I'm hoping there's no infection. Will keep an eye on things
So sorry, hope it heals really fast.
Lunch time is a special time for me because I met with my family
Very beautiful pictures and very beautiful published well, my friend
yeah there are some rubbish place ,so you injured in your leg.i suggest you, walk carefully...@steevc
Consistency! I should learned that
How can we make nature dirty? That's a shame. Attention to the fall...
Some times you have to exercise the body at crucial times, but I don't like the pain associated with running, you'd could have fallen more than once. The route doesn't look smooth... Thanks for sharing your experience, please don't run again except in the stadium!
