It's been a busy week! I meant to get this out on my blog a few days ago. Last week was another good running week in the books! I'm liking these really solid weeks and feeling really strong. A few runs, later in the week, I felt a bit tired but that's to be expected. Not terribly tired - but I could tell I ran a longer run the week before.
- Monday - Rest Day
- Tuesday - 6.5 mile tempo run - average 7:41/mi pace
- Wednesday - Rest Day
- Thursday - 6.3 mile easy run - average 8:17/mi pace
- Friday - 4.9 mile easy run - average 8:46/mi pace
- Saturday - 7.6 mile easy run - average 8:36 pace.
- Sunday - 13 mile long run - average 8:28 pace.
Total = 38.4 miles
My plan called for a 12 mile long run but I was feeling pretty fantastic so I added an extra mile. I'm really pleasantly surprised how great I feel this marathon training cycle. I do still have 12 weeks left, so I may need to hold my words. I'm sure things will get tougher as I get closer to race day. I'm starting to see progress on my speed for long runs. I'm not sure if it's because there is no snow on the ground or I'm not running a treadmill or I'm actually getting fitter. I like to think I'm getting fitter! ;)
Stay tuned for my next blog post on my favorite books on training and where I got my training plan from!
That's a great chunk of running at a good pace. I still don't feel ready for a marathon, but I have a half next month.
Thanks! I didn't feel quite ready for a marathon either when I started training. In fact, I never really do but when I starting doing long runs again, things seem to fall into place and I feel less nervous about it.

Yes, I do! Let me know what I need to do. thanks!
We are a small team composed by @run.vince.run , @planstoplanks , @cstrimel and a few more... We try to promote and support runners at steem blockchain and, essentially, we are asking only for a very tiny effort in change of upvotes for our enrolled runners and other benefits...
We have not being very active lately but the initiative is still alive and running...
You can read one of our post as an example here:
https://steemit.com/runningproject/@runningproject/runningproject-s-5k-to-10k-weekly-running-proposal-wk03-restarting-the-work-after-the-competition-week
At the end of the post there is always a reminder on how to get enrolled but, as I said you are more than "qualified" to be a member...
The cost is only 1steem/sbd for the moment.
Done! And I learned something new - how to transfer Steem to another user! I'm slowly learning how to do this. :)
Really?!!! OMG!
Well done @nizzlehead !!

haha! I know. I'm so late to the party. This is all new to me. :P
Don't worry...
Just a question... why you don't power up all your steem in steem-power?
You have 22 Steem in your wallet... are you planning to sell them? :-)
Every day is a good day when you run.
