RE: The last long run

Good luck, man! Remember to hydrate (and possible add some calories too, a banana or an energy bar) once you get over the first 20k. From that level on, it's a different race. Really looking forward to your race. Whatever the outcome, the mere fact that you're doing this is amazing :)

Thanks for that :-) and all the encouragement along the way.

I think I'm sorted for hydration and food. I've been experimenting with what I can eat and how long it lasts and how much fluid I need, on a hot day, on a cold day.

I've also got hydration salts all sorted out. So I think I'm about as prepared as I can be (without obsessing about it)

It also helps that I'm not actually trying to win the race ;-)

And that I have already run 40kms twice in training. So i know I can do the distance. It's just a matter of 'how fat can i do it?'

I think having the holiday just now is a good move also. It will get me all refreshed and ready to go hard on race day.

I'll let you know how it turns out ;-)

Fingers crossed! :)
