Motorcycle Travel Series by @velimir 'The Living Quarters' (Part #202)

in #ruins7 years ago (edited)

Dark shabby entrance in the southeast corner of the mansion's inner yard catches my attention. This wing is open and can be explored. I wonder what I'll find in there, in that darkness. Probably some more devastated rooms full of who knows what. My curiosity is my moving force, so I bravely enter the dungeon.

This is a total surprise. Absolutely unexpected. A row of post boxes with names on them. This means that people actually live here and have their regular addresses. This place is not suitable for living. It is completely ruined and neglected. Nobody should be left to live here if for nothing else than for the public health alone. These people should be moved to more appropriate dwellings, no matter the reason for mansion's decay.

The firewood is prepared. Luckily for all of them, the winter is very mild. I also wonder if there is running water available at all. These poor people deserve better. Everyone deserves better than this.

As I climb the stairs, I can smell the damp stench surrounding me as I move around the walls full of holes. I am feeling quite down and cannot believe what circumstances could lead up to this. This is under the acceptable standard of a socially-sensitive state we are so often bragging to be.

The "apartments" are probably very tiny, so tenants set up a sort of living room space on top of the stairwell. The whole scene looks as if taken out from some dystopian novel. I feel like some radiated mutants will jump out of the corner any second now.

As I walk through the dark corridor, I notice that there are no normal door knobs on some doors, but lock and chain instead. A very sad picture. I will follow what happens to this mansion closely from now on, and let people who should know about this - know about this.

Hope there is some light at the end of the tunnel, corridor in this specific case.

To be continued...

Dark and beautiful, I should say.

amazing photography... as always

You just once again made me shiffer with an image specifically. Loved what you wrote about this adventure, but as I said. this one in particular made me stare quite a bit. Great work!
One quick note, you should update you watermark to be 2018 (=

nice

t.

Btw! wanted to ask you. how do you manage to get into these awesome spots all the time. Is your bike an of-roader?

no it is a cruiser. i often take photo of it if you scroll a few issues bac you ll find it :)
aaaaah thank you lol I totally forgot that we are in 2018 already lol

As have we all! Haha a patient on the emergency room who we had to test for mental accuracy told us that it was 2017. And we all decided that he was doing quite average on that one. So there is that! I personally ride a Suzuki Bandit! An oldy from 1994 but a lovely bandit still 😂

t.

Ow jeez.

I don't know anything about bikes, but I googled Suzuki Bandit and I've got to say that that's my favorite GTA Vice City bike. It looks just like the one I tried to poach everywhere, since it was super elegant and fast and stable.

I'm curious about how riding a bike works in real life. The most I've done is going full speed on a bycicle, but I'm sure it must be something way on another level.

It's easy to forget we're in 2018 lol, we just got here and we've been signing stuff with 2017 for a whole year now! That's how human routine works and it's a tragic thing.

this image show that some spirits are come. @velimir

Hahahahaha, I thought he had misposted and that this was clearly not from a motorcycle. Now I see how wrong I was. So awesome!

buildings looks like from 1400’s nice post

That's really sad velimir :(
knowing that in our "advanced" world, in a country where you wouldn't expect things like that to happen - it still does.
In Israel you can see homeless people living in the street, but as far as I know it's because they choose to - the government supply everyone in need a roof above his head, even if it's a communal roof with others. I think they get more charity money this way but who know, maybe they are just used to it - anyway it is a heartbreaking scene - old people wrapped in stinking blankets and a nylon to cover them from the rain.

I do hope that the people living at this place have good reasons to do so and that they are as happy as they can in this situation :(
How comes you did not meet any of them yet? a little strange they didn't show up - are they hiding?

edit - this tag is brilliant for the post "ruins".

hehehe follow on ;)

I've seen situations where the government-provided aid is much worse than what homeless people can find on the streets. It's an extremely sad scene in Venezuela to see people eating from the garbage everywhere, even though our government claims to be socialist. I'll try not to get into politics. The point is, maybe they live better that way. If they didn't, I don't think they would choose to do what they do.

I am sad to hear that 🙁
I know for a fact that the situation of my country isn't like yours- whoever needs the help will get it - it might not be fancy but it's better than the streets. But I do know that venezuela is in a tough situation. My heart is with you.

Thank you, dear, for your support. Kind people like you make the world spin... metaphorically.

Lovely tones in the photographs.

Extremely lovely indeed. Now I'm thinking on how to achieve that with post edition, since I sure as hell won't manage with just a camera for that hahaha

Very cooL! I can't wait to see more of these posts!

Do people live here? The building looks like something that would collapse any moment.

yeah they do...welcome to real europe lol

Is it like this in the whole of Europe? It seems like a really sad thing. I was planning on moving there, but seeing as poor people like me are not treated well I don't think I could live well there.

A falling roof seems to be better during winter than the streets.

It looks really sad, I dont know why. How old is the building?

I think it was originally built in 18th century

There's a niche for that kind of pictures. There's people who like that style, called "abandoned architecture". People's tastes are interesting.

Yes I agree. What do you think about my post? Love to get your opinion

I love most of it, @diljeetdil, you have some awesome pictures!

Thank you, appreciated

Have you ever faced any paranormal situations during your adventures. Looks like you are very likely to face one judging by the places you visit.

By the way I am a recent follower and haven't yet tried your other works yet.

This place looks extremely scary and would fit well in a horror movie , you are truly a brave soul

Indeed, and he didn't just walk in, he took his bike. It's awesome hahaha

lol yes it is and thanks for the share though

i too feel sorry for the poor people who dwells there..everybody deserves better than this..but in the reality it is not so..there is a biggest dream with me..someday i will do my best to make to alive..i want to make a house for poor family only from the money i have earned..still im not having that sort of financial support as im still doing my studies..but someday i will :)

I think it would be good too to make a foundation. That way you wouldn't only make one home but many homes for many homeless families who are forced by their situations to live on the streets and to eat scraps and beg for money. I look forward to a day where all humans are treated decently, although I may just be a dreamer.

Did you happen to meet any ghosts on your way?I get a very creepy feeling when I have to walk alone on such corridors and abandoned houses.Specially when it has to be a mansion
-cheers-

oh I seldom meet ghost as of recently :D

They hide behind your back and mock your head movements when you look around to find them!

I'm sure he did, but he won't tell you or he'd seem insane! 😇

This is amazing! You all seem to be great individuals. Love seeing this kind of stuff. I'm looking forward to attending some Steemit meetups as well.

This got me pumped about working harder on my own Steemit profile :)

By the architecture of the building and your name and surname, I can tell that you're somewhere from the Balkan area, my guess would be Croatia since I see a lot of similar apartment ruins in my adventures. Keep up the awesome content!

I like this

more like horror traveling, but your photo is very interesting in my opinion.

This dark entrance looks a little evil :)
Indeed, the conditions are unacceptable. I think in any country there should be a good standard of living and standards should be strictly maintained.
The atmosphere in the apartment is repellent. So much fabric - as if they hide something terrible.
The last photo from the corridor can be called simply "light at the end of the tunnel".
Thank you

Having to always go on tiptoe is exhausting and I think nothing positive for relationships with that person. Having to always measure each word that we are going to say is not natural and I think that we end up having an invoice.
Relationships should be natural and if they are not, I think it is better to create distance with these people.

Velimire, slike su ti vrhunske, pratim Travel Series vec jedno vrijeme! Odlican posao.

@velemir, You explore the world the way we should all explore. Congratulations!!!

These journeys on the edge give us an insight into how fast we can land on the bottom. The responses of the viewer may vary. Some people can observe this with resistance.
Some may be thoughtfully watched. It is important that the stories touch us and we think about them
