Before I settle in to play this game I have a quick ritual I perform that involves searching the mod pages at Nexus.com for anything I might be interested in. You can always find tons of nice stuff for the Brotherhood of Steel or the Institute, but the Minutemen and the Railroad are neglected for the most part. I found an interesting mod for the Minutemen tonight that I just had to try out. Link below:

So I downloaded it and proceeded to make one and apply it to one of my settlers. I did not really like it as it came out of the box but it had potential. The play through I was on has a male main character, so it quickly became aggravating everytime I made changes to the outfit mashup that I was having to equip/unequip the piece from the settler. So I figured what the heck...I had downloaded a bunch of other stuff I wanted to do this with and I may as well create a second play through with a female main which would make the process much quicker. I made my character and rushed her through the intro. I got to Sanctuary and scrapped the place but decided not to build there because I may actually want to do something nice there one day and I did not want to build something only to scrap it later.
I swam across the lake from Sanctuary to the big, rock cliff overlooking the lake close to Satellite Station Olivia and began building there. I was not trying to be artistic with it as the main thing I wanted was a place to throw some crafting benches up in. I got it about half done and then went to work on the clothes mods I had downloaded. I combined a few pieces from other mods with the MilitiaWoman mod and was really pleased with the results. I finally had something that was Minuteman themed and it was comic book sexy...or so I thought anyway.
I liked the outfit so much that I began to run through the quest line. I got to the point where I had killed my way through the Museum of Freedom to rescue Garvey and the others when I realized I was about to drag them out of there with no place to put them. So I turned around, went back to Sanctuary and built them a little place over the bridge.
It is amazing how inspiring a little red, white and blue can be sometimes...

Yup, she definitely is "comic-book-kinda-sexy" 😉... This game is still on my wishlist and I didn't bought it at the last steam-sales, so I'll wait for another sale! I love this game series! You've builded a nice home for those characters! Lovely post, it makes me wanna game!
Fallout 4 is probably the best game purchase I have ever made. Like Skyrim, it is the modding that provides freshness to the game. Always something new to try.
I agree with you there @olmech. Modding does keep it interesting and I alway look forward to trying new builds and settlement designs.
I must say she looks gender confused, but interesting.
