- SpotMini is a robotic dog that can act as a human assistant in the home or office.
In an exciting turn of events apparently the world now has robotic dogs that are able to fight off humans trying to break into houses! The ability for this new robot to prevent humans from open a door is a bit disturbing and also brings up the question as to why we are teaching a robot to fight back against humans in the first place?
The new robot I'm referring to is called the SpotMini. It is a 66-lb. (30 kilograms) robot that can easily fit in a home or an office. In the video below you can see SpotMini attempting to open a door—when a human comes with a hockey stick and displaces the robot's mechanical arm away from the door knob.
Regardless, the robot is successful in opening the door.
It turns out, any successful robot assistant for the home needs to be good at dealing with "disturbances," according to the company that designed it.
I guess this seems to make a bit of sense but I can see the military industrial complex all over this type of technology. The world of the future is going to look vastly different to the world we are living in now, that is an opinion I state with convinction. Beyond fighting with humans we will also need to overcome battles with robots, it starts with dogs and will most likely progress into newer and more advanced models.
Get a good look at this robot below!
It seems clear that advancements in 2018 are continuing to pick up pace and that there will be many more exciting announcements to come related to the field of robotics...
What did you guys think of this new robot? Can you see useful applications for it? What other abilities do you think would be good to add to this impressive lineup of skills shown in the SpotMini?
We really appreciate your support. The staff at @CryptoTelegraph thanks you!
