Once a year, many of the different users from all around the STEEM Blockchain turn into real faces at the STEEMFEST! Last year, it was the third time that @roelandp organized this amazing event - and the first one where I joined. Hopefully I will be able to attend again this year, even though the distance needed to travel is far greater for the upcoming location Bangkok, then it was for Krakow last year!
Since SF3 was my first STEEMFest, the most interesting part for myself was to meet the many faces behind the usernames I have had contact with over the internet in the past. And even though we were a very heterogeneous, there seemed to be a certain mutuality, which made finding contact very easy from the first minute to the last.
Before we continue with other people and projects, I first want to mention and thank @crypto-talk, the founder of the cool mobile steem frontend @partiko.
Because of his project, I was able to get a free ticket to the festival, which heavily influenced me to really go there. Thank you once again!
Besides seeing users I had already met in person before (@twinner, @alexvan & co.) again, two events really stood out for me. One because it was a lot of fun, one because it has had an tremendous impact on my further STEEM life. Let's start with the second - @aggroed's presentation of @steemmonsters!
An exclusive set of card skins for STEEMFest attendees? A real card game we can play live in Bangkok? Who knows, there probably are many cool ideas :)Even though I had started to invest in those virtual monsters before SteemFest, those days were the ones giving me tons of hope about that game. On the one hand, I felt that both @aggroed and @yabapmatt had a clear vision of what they wanted to do with the game. On the other hand, I have had the chance to talk to both of them in person and I just had a good feeling about the whole thing. Especially in the crypto space, where theft and betrayal unfortuantely isn't uncommon, it's a really cool thing to actually know who is behind something. Both of those guys don't seem shy about the public and don't seem to try to hide or anything like that. This just gives a element of security crypto projects often lack. I am quite sure both will attend the upcoming SteemFest as well - let's hope they bring some cool stuff!
The second thing I really enjoyed was the poker game with @anomadsoul and @blocktrades, the host of the #roadtosteemfest contests, @aggroed and many more.
Funny sidefact: A guy who now is one of the toughest opponents in @steemmonsters - @bubke - won that poker round and kicked me out:
@bubke watch out - I am coming for revenge this year! :)
As you can see, we had a lot of fun in Krakow! And I would bet a lot that it will not be less in Bangkok. I really do hope that I can make it :)
