Underbone motorcycle, or commonly known in Malaysia as kapcai, are lightweight small engine motorcycles that are very popular in Malaysia. You can see a lot of them plying our our roadways weaving in between traffic, from freeways to cities and suburbs, especially in the rurals where obeying traffic rules seem to be optional - because there are many under-aged riders zooming around often without helments.
Well it's the rurals, where traffic is arguably rare and these daredevils seem to know well enough to keep their derring-do in the confines of their village area.
Apparently, not anymore.
I saw this earlier today in my housing area, and as you can see from the 3 lane roadway.... I don't live in a rural area.
It's a small kid on a small bicycle manually hitching himself onto a motorcycle. Meanwhile on the motorcycle is a pinion rider with no helmet and the person controlling the bike seems to be under-aged as well.
I assure you, despite what you see in the gif above, there are plenty of traffic plying the roads, and for the duration I was behind them I witnessed several closed calls with other cars.
So....I guess it's safe until they get ran over by a truck or something?
yep.....just another day in Malaysia.

Oh! That is definitely not safe.
This looks like an accident in progress.
Haha I like it that you said it is an "accident in progress" instead of "accident waiting to happen"......it indeed looks like that lol!
They take a lot of risks. I hope the motorcycle is driven not by the parents of this child, because it is extremely irresponsible.
The driver seems to be another under-aged kid
