RE: Let's Create a Steem Community Roadmap (Discussion)

in #roadmap7 years ago

I noticed on steem wallet in the savings portion there is an annual percentage return (apr) set at 0. I would like to know more about how steem can also work as an investment saving plan for future holders. If anyone knows pls comment or ahare how I can find out more about the next steps to a savings plan on steem.

Savings as it is currently implemented is just a three day lock that prevents funds from being withdrawn. It is mainly intended as a security feature.

The APR rate is controlled by the witnesses. It is currently set to 0%, because there is already surplus demand for SBD. If the demand goes down, this is one way witnesses can incentivize people to buy/hold.

Thanks for explaining I wish it was an account that would work as staking into the coin.

Steem Power pays a small amount of interest. The last I checked it seemed around 2-3% annual APR.

I didn' find info on a return that high for SP, I saw a .01% interest on a past post. I'll have to look into it more.... I did find a Steem dollar bank. Must be a 3rd party provider bank. Thank u for responding

The SP interest is not much. Like I said, around 2-3% annually. It is not related to posts though, so I’m not sure what you were checking.
