Nile–Kagera
The Nile Egyptian Arabic en-Nīl Standard Arabic an-Nīl Coptic Ancient Egyptian Biblical Hebrew is a major north-flowing river in northeastern Africa and is commonly regarded as the longest river in the world through some sources cite the Amazon River as the longest. The Nile which is 6,853 km (4,258 miles) long is an international river as its drainage basin covers eleven countries namely Tanzania Uganda Rwanda Burundi the Democratic Republic of the Congo Kenya Ethiopia Eritrea the South Sudan Republic of the Sudan and Egypt. In particular, the Nile is the primary water source of Egypt and Sudan.
The northern section of the river flows north almost entirely through the Sudanese desert to Egypt then ends in a large delta and flows into the Mediterranean Sea. Egyptian civilization and Sudanese kingdoms have depended on the river since ancient times. Most of the population and cities of Egypt lie along those parts of the Nile valley north of Aswan and nearly all the cultural and historical sites of Ancient Egypt are found along riverbanks.
The Yangtze.
The Yangtze which is 6380 km long is the longest river in Asia and the third-longest in the world. The river is the longest in the world to flow entirely within one country. It drains one-fifth of the land area of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and its river basin is home to nearly one-third of the country's population. The Yangtze is the sixth-largest river by discharge volume in the world.
The English name the Yangtze derives from the Chinese name Yángzǐ Jiāng which actually is the lowest 435 km part between Nanjing and Shanghai. The whole river is known in China as Cháng Jiāng.
