OMG! This is amazing. Reminds me of a RP forum I was involved in years ago. It was based on the game Nationstates.net which was inspired by the novel Jennifer Government. I will definately get around to participating in this. Just not immediately. So, much to do!!

Okay, I have to claim my spot before it's taken. I'll get the other details up soon, though.
Political persuasion: Libertarian Socialism
Map position: Hoping you have the original PSD or PNG or something so you can fill it more easily. The color is #FFDBDA.
Also, because of the map projection scheme, I wasn't sure if I picked 4, 5, or 6 territories. Let me know.
Lastly, will climate play a role in this? If so, how are the climate zones different under this flooded map? Is this civ-like? Are there multiple possible win conditions, or is this just a war game? I'm excited!!
I'm making some big changes to the map, its taking a more cyberpunk theme :D
Climate is going to play a part. I've blocked off some zones as too hot to live (but can still be claimed and mined).
Win conditions will be score based, with a turn limit TBD. War can help, but too much war can cause overextension, which can lead to rebellions at home.
More soon
