There are many speculations about this particular currency. Ripple says that they have signed agreements with over 100 banks and some are already using their technology but they have not released any ledgers yet. Maybe it will grow because banks want this to grow but I personally feel there are many other currencies you can support instead of Ripple. These guys are complete for banks and you know banks are not our friends :D
