One interesting thing about XRP is that it managed to reach a significant milestone while most of other cryptocurrencies were dropping throughout mid December 2017. It reached value of 1 dollar per token on December 20th and managed to stay around that value as of today (the price for December 24th is 1.025 dollars - even though it of course varies depending on the source you’re looking at). It is currently the 4th biggest currency out there with market cap of over 39 million USD.
One thing that makes XRP unique is that Ripple, the start up that created it holds 61% of the coins out there which means they can influence the value of the currency if they find needed.
One it comes to your question itself, there are of course pros and cons. So, like any other cryptocurrency, it is still volatile and nothing can really guarantee its stability. Also, the fact that the company owns more such significant amount of coins can be a good and a bad thing since there is a force that can influence its value other than market trends. So if they decide to just sell their coins, the market would get flooded and XRP would lose all of its value.
Having said that, of course that is not at all likely to happen, but weirder things happened in this world. Charlie Lee just sold all of his Litecoins even though he created them, but the whole situation was very different. However, that is a whole different story anyway. :)
On the other side, XRP is used by very major financial institutions which makes it way more stable. It will not just fade away, now that it is has such substantial stakeholders involved. And since it’s being used by all these financial giants so often, it has liquidity that is rarely seen in cryptocurrencies.

Hello @rekhakumari
Sounds interesting post..
I want to say something, Ripple is made for bankers to bankers.. Ripple is centralized big difference with decentralized ...
It sounds maybe a good crypto because is on the top begin Bitcoin, but it is not for us I think...
Many people are looking for a decentralize financial system ...
So, maybe Ripple is not the best way ..!!
Have a great time..!!!
