It was already evening. There was a lot of work and she left the office later than usual.
Lonely lanterns illuminated the street along which Julia was returning home. Then suddenly a guy appeared in front of her. Julia was frightened. It was unexpected.
"Hello ", said the guy. What is such a beautiful girl doing here herself?
" I ... I ... just ...", she looked at him and saw a tall and athletic young man. The hair is dark, and the skin is as white as snow. But most of all she was struck by his eyes, they seemed to sparkle.
This fascinated and frightened at the same time.
He took her hand and led her into the darkness. Julia froze from his touch.
"Do not be afraid, I will not hurt you."
He looked at her frightened face. Such beautiful features he had never seen in all his long years of existence. A thin neck, velvety lips, long brown hair and green emerald eyes and her smell ... more than anything, he was fascinated by her scent.
"Go home," he said sternly.
She walked quickly to the house. He followed her all the way from a distance. Today he let her go. Maybe vampires are also able to fall in love?
That was excellent! I loved the twist at the end. I read a book "Comedy Writing Secrets" many years ago, and one of the things it described is that a good joke should lead the listener down a familiar path, and then veer away at the last word -- at the last syllable, if possible.
This wasn't humor, but it used a similar construct. And moved me. Thanks!
