Apple USB C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter User
As I use my laptop every day, I'm increasingly dissatisfied with the speaker quality and wired sound quality that laptops offer.
The laptop I'm using is one of the ASUS Vivobook's derivatives, and it's a derivative of the F510UA model that I've often seen last year and early in the year.
I didn't expect much sound quality from a 500,000 won entry-level laptop.
First, plug the earphones into the 3.5mm gender and you'll feel quite a bit of white noise. The comparison was a smartphone, but even if it wasn't an LG phone with a quad DAC, anger was not a big deal in flagship smartphones these days.
And the sound quality of the laptop was inferior in overall, and it was a bit frustrating as if something was stuck. It gives a clear feeling of turbidity than when listening to the same sound source on your smartphone.
Then, after wandering through YouTube, I heard that Apple's USB-C gender can greatly improve sound quality and buy it. There was also a C terminal on the laptop, so there was no need to hesitate.
The price is 12,000 won.
In fact, as the iPad Pro 3rd generation adopted USB-C, the existing gender changed to Lightning ---> Type C, and the role remains the same. It is important to note that unlike Lightning, its versatility has increased significantly. I don't know if Apple is aware of this, but it's also fairly compatible with non-Apple devices. When I used it, the remote control function of Windows laptops, Android phones, and earphones worked fine.
- Earphone Connection Comparison
First of all, when I connected the earphone to this adapter, I heard much less noise than when connecting the earphone to the laptop. It didn't go away at all, but it's not annoying. I feel much better in terms of sound quality and output. It feels like the adapter is refining and reproducing the sound signal from the laptop. Anyway.
Connect the adapter + earphone directly to the smartphone 3.5mm terminal vs. the USB-C terminal
Esau was a little better, but it was hard to feel big. If the earphone was an A-shaped plug, it was better to remove the adapter for convenience.
- Speaker Connection Comparison
I'm using Creative T30. I purchased the T20 ~ T40 series products because they gave good sound at a reasonable price.
When I had a wired connection directly to my laptop, it was much worse than I expected. At this point, I could clearly see that the laptop's own sound quality was poor.
In particular, the T30 was equipped with its own Bluetooth function, which supports aptX, and I wondered if the Bluetooth sound quality was significantly better than when connecting a laptop 3.5mm terminal. Common sense is that 'wireless sound quality can't keep up with wires'.
Sound quality
AUX cable + Apple adapter> = T30 and laptop Bluetooth connection >>> AUX cable directly connected to the laptop.
That is, than when connected directly
In this way, the sound quality using the adapter was much better.
In conclusion, I use this product quite satisfactorily. 12,000 won is not a waste
Space charge X + Easy to carry + Not much fever + Satisfaction with high compatibility is more than enough to offset the price.
This overcomes the sound cost savings of entry-level notebooks at an affordable price !!
One disadvantage is that the adapter cable is so thin that it is difficult to ensure durability. Even if it breaks down because of this problem, I like it so much that I am willing to buy it again.
I know that other manufacturers such as Google and Samsung have released similar adapters, but I could not find any data comparing performance. If you are using a 3rd party adapter, please share your information in the comments.
The last thing I felt about using this product ...
Apple's pricing is often hard to understand, but Apple's audio equipment always brings satisfaction at a reasonable price.
When the ear pod first came out, I still use what I bought at the department store.
Apple In-Ear, HomePod is highly valued for its value for money, and the iPad Pro & MacBook are said to be the best in their class. Audio isn't a hobby, but Apple sounds like it's an easy way for people like me to hear good sound.
