I probably ought to watch Black Mirror. I like other stuff Charlie has done. Cory Doctorow came up with a currency based on reputation called Whuffie in one of his books. I guess Steemit has an element of that. We're living in the future!
I met Cory several years ago at a writers festival. I attended one of his panels and he signed a book for me. Very friendly, very down-to-earth (like most Canadians!) and an incredible speaker. He was raising issues in his talk that very few people back then were thinking about: social currency, copyright, intellectual freedom versus group think and how our society is subtly manipulated. He's truly a visionary.
Wow, nailed it - I hadn't read the book but the wiki gives a very familiar story, you really should see the episode.. Charlie must have been influenced by that book as well :)
Do eeet , season 2 was awesome too - all episodes are standalone stories too so theres no need to commit to a marathan session to catch up but its so good you may anyway :)
Same here, i was tempted to watch them all at once but i want to make sure i fully absorb these.. Charlie puts so much detail into these worlds , im glad others recognize the skills :)

Sounds interesting. I don't know Black Mirror series, but this episode seems somewhat similar to one of the episodes of Community - App Development and Condiments.

if it is as good as the earlier seasons, the wait is still worth it.
It's actually fairly common for BBC shows to take time off between seasons. Sometimes it's years.

The China thing is really scary. I haven't started watching Black Mirror yet. Will have to check it out as I do like Charlie Brooker's work a lot.
