Why you should watch it
Marvels The Runaways is a pretty good tv show for all of you marvel comics lovers. Now the series itself is quite unique, setting itself aside from other superhero shows.The tension is slowly building up as you get to know every hero individually and identify yourself with them.With every episode showing a timeline change in the beginning so you see how every one of the families started to be you start to see why they act like they act and do what they do. The characters are also unique in their own way each having some kind of super-power wether it was hereditary or scientifically gained or just being a good strategist you really see how they complete each other and make a good team. Finally the villain has a good origin backstory and built up to the conclusion that he even is the main villan in the show is portrayed the character quite nicely. I'm happy to say this is one of the good ones out there to watch.
How it's different from the comics
It's very much different than the comic book version. Well first in the comics Alex was the one who first saw their parents with their annual PRIDE ritual, and didn't notify the others but formulated some kind of a plan then led everyone intentionally the next year seeing their parents during the same annual PRIDE ritual. There still is the matter of their parents, which in the comics were much different, for example in the tv show they had some remorse and reasons why there were doing everything.
In the tv show they actually changed the backstory of the parents and their motives, like the Deans being aliens, the Wilders being mafia bosses, the Steins being ''mad scientists'', the Yorks being time-traveling criminals, the Hayeses still being alive and the Minoru's both being dark wizards . Now the main villain of the show Jonah isn't even in the comics, but in the comics the parents are the main villains. There is still much more differencies but I will not go into details. For me, I'm actually happy they didn't follow the comics all the way, because that would just be predictable and boring and the ratings would probably be worse.
