Capcom has been working on a remake of Resident Evil 4 since 2018, but the release is not scheduled to take place until 2022.

That's what's going on: The remake of Resident Evil 4, which thrilled many players in 2005, is in progress. According to Videogamechronicle.com, Osaka-based Studio M-Two, led by Tatsuya Minami, the former head of Platinum Games, is working on the remake.

What is Resident Evil 4?

Resident Evil 4 was released in 2005 and puts you in the role of Leon S. Kennedy. For the first time in the third-person perspective on the road, the 6th part of the series is more action-packed and visually appealing.

Your task is to save the presidential daughter Ashley, who is still one of the most annoying video game characters we have ever seen. In parts of Spain the vermin virus "Las Plagas" has broken out and is turning the villagers into terrible adversaries. In several scenes you fight these enemies, nasty bosses, explore the world and finally save the president's daughter.

The inventor of the Resident-Evil series, Shinju Mikami, has declined to lead the remake, but has given his consent and some tips for the remake.

After the remake of Resident Evil 3 was released only recently, we can now look forward to another remake.

Remakes successful, Capcom asks for fans' opinion

Although the remakes are getting good reviews on Steam, Capcom has launched a survey to find out if players want more remakes or more Resident Evil offshoots.

The survey seems to be primarily tailored to the Asian market. However, it does point in an interesting direction, even though the questions do not specify what part of the franchise you would like to see remade.

Those who take part in the survey will receive a wallpaper as a thank you.

What do you think about the remakes? Do you have no problem getting old wine in new bottles, or are you eagerly awaiting Resident Evil 8?
