RE: Exploring Sleep Paralysis

in #research8 years ago (edited)

I have sleep paralysis. Hits me all of the time. The first time I was scared to pieces. It never really hit me hard until adulthood and my first major episode lasted 20 minutes.

did you ever try seeking medical care for it?

I did. They didn't properly diagnose it at first. Once diagnosed I sort of dealt with it. I wasn't given any real means of stopping it. I don't fear it as much anymore. It's more like a "here we go again" moment lol.

I'd be curious to see if it has any genetic implications in your case

I definitely think it is accelerated by stimulants and stress. I drink a lot of caffeine now, never did as a kid. I also have it happen a lot more at stressful periods in my life.
