Internet security: why it is important and what needs to be fixed
As we entered the new digital age, step by step carrying over it some of the most important aspects of our everyday life (fiances, personal and social life etc), the question of security and protection had immediately become of huge relevance.
Up until this moment by far the most common type of defense on the internet have been passwords. And there is no denial, they were getting the job done and were doing it really well (and frankly still manage to do so). But they proved themselves to be quite inconvenient and inefficient in some aspects. It is quite difficult to memorize them, especially for ones who use many different internet resources. And they are getting frequently stolen by frauds and hackers. Not even multi-layered measures like text message or email confirmation are safe anymore.
In other words, the times are changing. And as they do, the security as we know it must also change. And that is where the REMME project enters the scene.
What is REMME?
REMME is a Ukraine based open key type start-up project established in 2018. It is designed by a developing team of the same name that consists of Ukraine's renowned cybernetic experts and core engineers. It was presented as a security protocol that functions on the basis of encryption and the new blockchain technology rather than outdated system of passwords.
The end result is creating the most reliable and efficient protection protocol for various vital data to date.
How does REMME work?
The closest thing this project in terms of purpose and form can be compared to is that of an ID card or passport. REMME uses SSL encryption, the same type of program that is installed in many websites that work with sensitive information (online banking systems, concurrency sites and casinos for example). It completely prevents any third party from reading or altering private data of a customer. Thanks to blockchain technology users will be able to log-in their system from any device. All of the accounts will be attached to one’s REMME electronic certificate. The only thing this certificate requires is you pressing a special button. It works simply and quickly without extra, basically making password system obsolete. REMME also grants its owner total control over not just the device present at the moment, but also every other verified device.
How long would it take before it gets mainstream and how big the range of its use is?
As of June 2018, REMME has reached the stage of a pilot program. The REMME developing team is currently collaborating with Infopulse. It is expected that REMME will reach the international market within the next couple of years.
REMME’s use however won’t be limited by standard every day activities. It aims to perform way more complex and challenging tasks in the long term run worldwide. REMME could become the key tool of protection of military and sociology-economical infrastructure, going as far as deflecting actual dangerous hacking attacks.
Conclusion
Giving what the start-up has achieved so far while being at the earliest forms of the development and what it is capable of achieving by becoming a full-fledged household name, it’s not difficult to see why it caused so much hype. It is an ambitious project with a wide range of implementations that perfectly combines safety, convenience and novelty. If successfully incorporated in everyday life, it will significantly reduce corporate expenses currently spent on far inferior safety measures. Right now its potential is evident by the feedback and praise that the project received from Bitcoin blockchain and Evercoin blockchain testing community, even taking the top prize. It is time to make the next step in this area. And we believe that REMME should be this step.
