John 5:4-7 (KJV) For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

When the Christ came to the cripple at the pool of Bethesda, the man’s response to Jesus’ question of whether he wanted to be whole was, “sir, I have no man…”

But, the truth is this man did not need another man to help him into the pool, he only needed to understand the sign that preceded the stirring of the water. This man was stuck at the pool for thirty eight years simply because he could not interpret spiritual activity.

Many Christians are at this pool spiritually: they blame their lack of finances, lack of connections, lack of education or lack of qualifications yet all they need is to understand spiritual signs and respond accordingly.

You don’t need the arm of flesh for aid. All you need is to understand the signs that precede the move of the spirit.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord for this wisdom: I understand spiritual signs and interpret them with both understanding and wisdom. I do not need a man to aid me; I have the Holy Spirit: He who leads me, convicts me and is my ever present help in times of need. I can never be stuck in this life because I have this understanding. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
