What will endure beyond the life of Steemit

in #religion8 years ago (edited)

I will begin my first post as a member of this phenomenally creative and compassionate community known as Steemit with conviction and hope. All ages, genders, races, backgrounds, creeds, religions, sexual orientations, political persuasions, and unique histories are bringing (and will continue to bring) their stories and personal narratives to the forefront of this great platform. What I think is so unique is that this online blockchain is truly a transparent community, one which favors anyone who wants to contribute something. It is vital that we all realize that each and every person God has created offers value...and when this community known as Steemit celebrates each person's value we will become stronger, more compassionate, and more loving. It is intriguing to me that while we are sharing our lives, our gifts, our talents, and our passions with one another we are also receiving...not just income but something much more valuable than that. We are receiving one another, we are receiving relationship.

Relationship is what will last, long after the last post has been written and submitted.

Together, we will achieve greatness, if we remember that our lives are based on the empathy and sympathy we have for one another, mutually affirming each other where we are and challenging one another to be the best we can be. As a pastor and minister of the Good News of Jesus Christ, I am reminded that the Kingdom includes all, accepts all, and celebrates all. I can think of no greater way to bless this online community than to participate in genuine, heartfelt conversation which uplifts, affirms and motivates us to be not only better entrepreneurs and income earners, but better people, interpersonally...in our jobs, our churches, our schools, and our homes. After all, when the money is gone, what we are left with? We are left with our relationships. Like you, I am excited about the potential for extra online income, but at the end of the day, all of that means nothing if fellowship, love and community aren't foundational must-haves. So let's share our lives, and celebrate this special diversity which is Steemit. We will be blessed with income, yes, but in the long term, we will be blessed with so much more...we will find that we are richer in communication, social dialogue and compassion. I look forward to upvoting posts, and encouraging you to be who God has called you to be. The legacy of love that we leave here will endure beyond the life of Steemit. I guarantee it.
