Also, lets not forget the scriptures were written by men no more divine than any of us and to take their word as the word of God is as questionable as taking the words of the congress as the word of the American people. The men that wrote/compiled the bible got their knowledge from other sources most of us are not privileged to view, therefore we are taking their words on faith and also the early church had/has it's own agenda.
