Whenever I made a controversial statement about religion or spiritual stuff, some people may be quick to say, "Dorky, you are wrong!"
In that case, which part of my statement is wrong and why is it wrong?
Then these people will quote some long-dead philosopher saying such and such philosophy that appear to invalidate my statement.
If so, then does such philosopher really know, or claimed to know?
These people may even say they have such and such religious background or education that teaches stuff that appear to invalidate my statement.
If so, are they claiming their background or education is the ultimate pathway?
Eventually I noticed 1 thing prevalent in most of these people that say I am wrong; they never refer to their own understanding and/or opinion as the main reference.
Instead, their reference is some 3rd-party long-dead philosopher, or some 3rd-party religion or education.
For example, "You are wrong because such and such people and institution (not me) says you are wrong)."
In that case, that is a valid point only if these are true:
- You totally agree 100% with the points of such 3rd-party people and institution (with or without question), and
- Such 3rd-party people and institution in their own knowledge, understanding, and wisdom are 100% right.
Otherwise, I wish to ask you to make your own mind and make your own decision.
Don't quote 3rd-party source to say my statement is wrong when in fact you cannot make up your own mind and decision on what is truly right or wrong.
Chances are, if you make up your own mind and decision, they could be more wrong than mine.
Congratulations @dorky! You have received a personal award!
