Genesis 3:9-10
9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto
him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and
I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
There is something inside fallen human beings that when we make mistakes we think we can hide from God. Adam knew he messed up and he set the tone for what so many people have been doing ever since. Instead of approaching God, apologizing and restoring fellowship with Him, Adam hid. For the first time ever, he felt so much shame that he couldn't face God. King David also had his moments of sin and imperfection when he probably wanted to hide from God, but he knew there was nowhere he could go to avoid the all knowing watchful eyes of the Lord...
Psalm 139:7-17
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither
shall I flee from thy presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I
make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in
the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right
hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me;
even the night shall be light about me.
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the
night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light
are both alike to thee.
13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast
covered me in my mother's womb.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and
wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and
that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was
made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest
parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being
unperfect; and in thy book all my members were
written, which in continuance were fashioned, when
as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me,
O God! how great is the sum of them!
When we mess up - and we all do, sometimes in a big way - our first response should be to run TO God, not away from Him. When we do that, He promises to forgive us, cleanse us and restore our fellowship with Him...
1 John 1:6-10
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and
walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the
light, we have fellowship one with another, and the
blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all
sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive
ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a
liar, and his word is not in us.
There is only one way to find restoration and cleansing; when we present ourselves humbly to God as sinners in need of His amazing forgiveness.
All praises, glory and honor to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ forever and ever.

Good, this is a very common syndrome in Christianity, I think it happens to everyone, it is a bit childish you could say but it happens to us, when we know that we act wrong in an incorrect way the enemy tries to persist in that position from a distance with God, of course, because it is when he can try to deviate you, in those moments we do not want to pray or read the word and the more time we spend so our communion will decrease, but we must remember that God loves us and forgives that we should only acknowledge that we sin and ask him forgive, after that understand that the grace of God is immense and allows us to approach Him
Good post! We can't hide ourselves from God because God is omnipresent. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for reminding us
God is good
Amen
Whenever we make mistakes its best to run to God and ask for forgiveness, HE is LOVE and HE will always forgive us so far we acknowledge we have sinned. May God help us all in Jesus name. Amen.
Thank you for your comment. God Bless You and Your Family
The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame. Genesis 2:25
Shame implies guilt, and before the fall Adam and Eve were innocent and unashamed. The Garden of Eden was truly paradise on earth until sin entered in.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
Jesus, the second Adam, came in obedience to do the will of the Father. He endured the cross and scorned its shame to restore what the first Adam had lost through his disobedience.
Of course we can not hide from God, but we can show ourselves up as we are and his grace will accept us to change our lives!! May our lord and savior JesusChrist be exalted on steemit through posts like this. Jesus is life, is relationship, nor religion! Blessings from Venezuela. Keep us in your prayers!
God Bless Venezuela
Amen!
I love this post because it reminds me of just a couple days ago how my wife (who claims to be an unbeliever), burnt a batch of home-made tortilla chips by turning on the broiler and neglected to check on them, thus creating an oil fire in the oven, which could've ended terribly had she not remained calm and found out what to do. Obviously as an unbeliever she fails to bring this mistake to our Most High and rebuild herself esteem through Him.
Instead she dwells on the mistake and digs herself deeper into a depression, until I step in and remind her that its merely a mistake and not truly her fault, I understand that the enemy comes in through us to steal, kill, and destroy, so I try to help her understand that she should not dwell on this mistake and just understand that it is a valuable lesson to learn from. God has a plan for her salvation (btw), I just need to relax and watch Him work. :D
Another great post OP. Shalom!
God Bless You and Your Wife
No one can hide from God because he knows everything, what we have is that we repent from our hearts when we do something that is not pleasing to our Heavenly Father. As always many blessings and we are reading to continue feeding the soul, the spirit and all our being of the word of God.
Amen! He is ready to receive us clean us up! Come boldly before the throne of grace to obtain mercy in our time of need! Mercy means we need something we don’t deserve! Hallelujah His mercies are new every morning! Resteemed! God bless!
no one can deceive God because God is an omnipotent God
there is nothing better than going there to the perfect place the teacher's feet to be restored.
Amen
You're right brother @deathlyhorror! We humans we like shying away from our mistakes. That's why God says David is a man after His heart. David knows how to humble himself before God. There is nowhere to run to He have the whole world in his arms.
Humility before God is the key.
The Question is:
If God is all-knowing God, why He asked Adam where he is?
Answer: Because in the First place when the man falls, God wants a Reconciliation. He Offers first so that the human might open up their faults. And with that, they may be reconciled.
We cant hide from his face because he knows everything about us
Definitely, everything - He knows us better than we know ourselves.
Yea,there is absolutely no where to hide from God,most people today still hide from God when they make mistakes because they think God is a judgemental God,they don't know the depth of God's love for them and that no matter what they do or have done he love them unconditionally and their sins have been forgiven in Christ jesus.even when Adam was hiding,God was still looking for him because he cares so much, what a loving father we have.Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Good passage from Romans - thank you
Just like the prodigal son realised his wrong and came back to God, we should endeavour to turn to God when we are wrong instead of hiding through excuse.
Amen
It's human nature to hide from our father when we do something bad. Children do it all the time because of the trouble they might be in. We should break this habit just as our earthy fathers don't want us to turn away from them. Neither does our heavenly father. Great post!
Very true - thank you for commenting
God is always by our side, no one can hide from him, we must know that whenever we ask for forgiveness, he will forgive us, good publication. I'll wait you in my blog @deathlyhorror
@deathlyhorror Remember how small and fragile the human being is before the immensity of the universe, as Genesis reminds us 1. Being man the product of his ambition and sin, we distance ourselves from the help and shelter of God. Our Lord Jesus came to free us with the guilt of our sins. It is in us to follow in his footsteps. Excellent post friend. A bear hug.
It's great to be FREE from the bondage of sin through Christ Jesus. bear hug back
