What if I told you that god does exist. While at the same time convincing you of the opposite, by saying:
what if I told you that religious books like the bible is actually just camp fire story book of physical, biological and moral law.
Now I think I should begin in the middle, with the bible.
Although 2000 years ago the written word did exist. As proven by stories of Mary and Joseph needing to return to Mary’s home town due to a census. Those with the ability to read and write were very limited. Even up until modern days of the 1950's the large majority of Africans had no formal education in the villages (pre-oxfam/unicef), sorry I digressed.
Now imagine that people wanted to learn about biology and laws, but without having the ability to read. This could be achieved by stories that can be said aloud and remembered easily by the images the stories conjure up in people’s minds. Where it only required one person to preach these stories for whole villages to learn from.
Now let’s move backwards and talk about the meaning of the stories.
In biological science it has been known, as far back as the ancient Greeks (BC) that the thyroid gland is the main mechanism of biology that makes the difference between an ape like height, IQ, and control of emotions... to a normal functional human being with independent thought.
The Greeks knew being born without thyroid function makes you dwarfish, low IQ person resembling the same abilities as a Neanderthal but due to the natural evolution they named it cretinism.
Now how does this play into the story of the bible.
Well take Adam and eve. The story of the apple that gives knowledge... then take biology "adams apple" in the throat area. Then research the thyroid gland. Some say it’s a butterfly shape some say it’s an apple shape. And piece all 3 points of information together.
By Neanderthals gaining an apple (thyroid gland) the knowledge (IQ) of life begins to expand. Much like giving a cretin (born with no thyroid) thyroid replacement hormones. They grow tall and their mind opens up to independent thought. Much like the symptoms that are said to occur when Adam and Eve took the apple.
The story of Adam and eve is just an imaginative and illustrative narration to explain how man moved from being a Neanderthal to become the taller, more cognitive beings we are today. Simply wrote in a camp fire tale that even the youngest of children could understand in nature, without any formal biology education.
Now let’s move onto the bible being used as a book of law.
Even back 2000 years ago, crimes, rapes, sexually transmitted diseases were rampant. So it was needed to teach people right from wrong. Do something wrong and later in life you will live in endless regret (illustratively named hell). Only do things right and later in life you will live in peace (illustratively named heaven)
So stories about no sex before marriage is to stay off sexually transmitted diseases by preventing people sleeping around and getting them to have only one sexual partner. Obviously because condoms didn’t exist.
Theft, insulting your elders, etc. are self-explanatory, where people should have morals to avoid all of these bad things.
And now I come to my most controversial part.. Who-where-what is god.
Imagine a 2000 year old campfire lesson in biology. Explaining why the heart beats, lungs inflate and eyes blink without the person consciously thinking about it.
We all in modern times know it’s the subconscious part of our brain, which is also the part that can fight against us when we decide to hold our breath and our body wants us to breathe. It also fights us when we are about to do something wrong by reminding us of our morals. And makes us know that putting our hand in the fire is going to hurt.
Well god is our subconscious. 'It' is inside all of us and is always there watching and guiding us.
By this I am not talking about a single sentient being in the sky. I’m talking about each of us have a part of brain lobe that controls us and looks out for danger (makes us blink when a fly tries to hit our eye, the subconscious thought to not put your hand into a fire). Each of us have our own personalised 'god' and it is nothing more than a piece of brain lobe.
I hope you enjoyed my thoughts
