"Jesus said to him, 'Philip, I have been with you so long, and you have not known me?' John 14:9
The ever deeper knowledge of the Lord Jesus is of vital importance to every child of God. The Bible, when speaking of this knowledge, does not refer to an intellectual knowledge of the Lord Jesus, but much more to a spiritual knowledge. The spiritual knowledge of the Lord Jesus is transformed into us into rivers of living water. The glorious fruit of the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ is that you become like His death: "... to know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, conforming himself to him in his death." A powerful word! He who knows Him becomes willing to become like His death, that is, His death on the cross. But that means the end of the works and the appetites of the flesh! Concordance with the cross has always been the greatest struggle against the will of the flesh! You struggle and strive, but even so, you do not recognize the crucified Lord, and as a consequence you do not recognize the mystery of the cross, the triumph of Jesus: "It is finished!" The victory over the sinful flesh was won a long time ago! You just have to be willing to become like Jesus. You must agree: "For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good," and then remain united to Jesus on the cross!
