Well I think someone did respond and point out that monogamy is sort of forced on us by society. And there are even economic ramifications to not adhering (especially for the man). But I also point out that for example the economics of divorce have become asymmetrical in favor of women employing beta-males as a financing strategy for them to be promiscuous. This is one way beta-males end up paying to raise the offspring of other men. Obviously the woman's hindbrain perceived those other genetics to be more desirable whether it was a true alpha-male or a bad boy imitation (which apparently fools the woman's instinctive hindbrain).
