Banned from reddit.com/r/btc after criticizing a moderator who is brigading Steemit

in #reddit8 years ago (edited)

This was the post I was banned for:

/r/btc moderator Soupernerd...
https://steemd.com/@soupernerd
https://archive.is/I6HDk
is brigading SteemIt.com with a sockpuppet...
https://steemd.com/@emilyelizabeth
https://archive.is/uWElB
After he posted a highly misleading video about the same platform last week...

Without ever apologizing for misleading users. Is this the kind of character we are happy to have moderating /r/btc? /u/memorydealers ?

This is the justification:

A reddit /r/btc moderator is brigading SteemIt posts, and for criticizing this I was banned. I can't appeal to the moderators, I was muted before I even had the chance. This is the anti-censorship Bitcoin movement we used to love?

How do you know @emilyelizabeth is @soupernerd? And how is he brigading with it? I clicked your links but I'm not sure what to look at.

You can see the timings of the votes. The votes of @soupernerd exactly preceded @emilyelizabeth all voting on the same things. Largely voting on the bot @weenis but also voting down any posters who downvote that bot. Also check out all the "test" posts they both have. They are similar accounts with simultaneous voting activity.

I noticed it while my own posts started to get downvotes and I looked into it.

They have no right to censor that. People should be free to express opinions and as long as they are not intentionally spamming or posted explicit content in the wrong categories or illegal silk road type content, then posts value should be dictated with user votes not censorship. Everyone wishes to be successful here and hopefully have conversations that are beyond one viewpoint berating the views of another.

@bendjmiller222 tell that to some people who were banned from /r/bitcoin_uncensored after they posted and made comments on /r/btc (me being one of them)
No moderation on reddit bitcoin subs it's objective ... it only depends on tempers and mood of moderators

At the very least those with a lot of steem power seem genuinely interested in what's best for steemit and actually allow negative posts aimed at steamit and censor nothing. Steem it's value is not based on ads, so they don't have to act in any way that is dictated by a company. Allowing random users to be banned for whatever reason is a major issue. Especially on an "uncensored" thread. I hope steemit can remain innovative and create content that will make users want to continue to come back every day. I'm optimistic about this and with less than 30k users this is only a sliver of the users that can join. Steemit is shaking up how social media is viewed and valued. Especially ad free and with valuable comments. I love it

its very bad idea to banned people to say what they like....the mod should be open mind and be professional to handle situation like this...dont worry mate we have steemit that will be best place for all people like us.

I'm sorry that you've had a bad experience. For what it's worth I did mention how you could include images in another post.

When you're on Imgur, what you need to do is right click the image and select "Copy image address". You can just paste that straight into your blog post and it will work :-)

Are you down voting out of spite?
