This delicious dessert called "Marquesa" comes from French cuisine.

Over time their ingredients have been changing, from the traditional recipe (with chocolate filling and dulce de leche), with its variations: stuffed with nutella, with cream lemon pie, with almonds or caramel ...

Today I share with you the recipe that I prepare (the classic Marchioness of Chocolate and Dulce de Leche).

For the preparation of this recipe, we will need the following ingredients:

300 gr. of chocolate (in tablet).
1 spoon of cocoa powder.
1 liter of milk
6 egg (yolks).
1 tablespoon cornstarch (corn starch).
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cookie packages (it can be the traditional Maria or another of your preference).
300 gr. of arequipe or dulce de leche.
Chocolate chips (to taste).

preparation:

We will start pouring in a pot the liter of milk at room temperature, cornstarch and vanilla, dissolve with a whisk and cook over medium heat.

In another pot, add the chocolate (in small pieces) and melt it in a bain-marie.

Once the milk starts to boil, we add the yolks one by one, stirring with a whisk.

After incorporating the egg yolks, add the melted chocolate, the spoonful of cocoa powder and beat until you achieve a mixture of smooth and creamy consistency; remove from the fire.

Next, we proceed to form the marchioness on a tray; first, we add with the help of a spatula a little chocolate cream at the bottom of it.

Then, moisten the cookies with the liquid milk, place on the chocolate cream and go forming layers; add chocolate cream and biscuits again and so on to form the last floor of cookies, which we completely cover with dulce de leche (arequipe) and sprinkle with chocolate chips. (We can also sprinkle sliced almonds ...).

We take to the refrigerator for about 2 hours.

** As we can see, the Marquesa could be related to desserts such as: the tiramisu, the bienmesabe, the three milks, the bread puddings and even the mantecados with cream and fruit.

Have you ever prepared a Marquesa at home ?. I invite you to make it, it's very easy and super delicious.
