Never had jerky. Is it something that can only be made using deer meat or can I use beef as an alternative too? Btw, how does deer meat taste? Does it have a different taste than beef or mutton?

Deer is good meat, but I cannot describe. Also "beef jerky" and "turkey jerky" are other popular kinds.
