"THE OUTSIDER" is a japanese movie which talks about the story of An American soldier that was actually imprisoned in the postwar Japan and decides to actually enter the dark world of the yakuza, and he is actually adopting their way of life as a way of a repayment for his freedom.....

the movie was directed by Martin Zandvliet...
and it was written by Andrew Baldwin.......

MY REVIEW ABOUT THE MOVIE...

Well Even though I really do not actually have any kind of affinity with theJapanese culture as such and I often mostly do ignore Asian films, but sincerely I could not resist giving the movie “The Outsider” a chance…. It is Not just only because of the actual fact that the colourful actor “Jared Leto” is actually inside the movie but it was actually also because of that central theme of the Yakuza families. Well honestly I do not know what the japanese term “yakuza” means but I guess it is just like the japanese version of what we could compare to the italian mafia….

THE MOVIE DO HAVE AN EXTREMELY SLOW PACING.
I think that The first thing anyone including me could be able to criticize about the movie is the slow pace that the movie has,the movie “The Outsider” is extremely so slow at times, indeed. But I guess that it really suits the japan concept… After all, all the actual members of the Yakuza families were know to be using a certain kind of pace in their conversations and they do that by actually using some impressove silences between the sentences that they make…. Also On the one hand they usualy use that to really show respect.and also On the other hand they maybe also using it to actually kind of increase the impact of the words which they use….

DO YOU THINK A WHITE YAKUZA MEMBER. IS ACTUALLY POSSIBLE OR NOT?
In my own opinion I actually thought that all the acting of the entire cast in the movie was really marvelous on all areas,I also love how the actors used and spoke their own language for most of the film instead of trying to use a broken bad sounding kind of english which they cannot speak correctly, also the major acting of Jared Leto was really amazing and also stunning…what remains a mystery for me in the movie was How Nick Lowell actually ended up in an Osaka prison…,. He actually became the prisoner who is the only English-speaking prisoner and he was actually surrounded by the yakuza gang members….what actually gave him his freedom was the fact that he was able to really Rescue the Yakuza Kiyoshi from a kind of perilous, and also a life-threatening type of situation.... And that was when he actually made the decision to integrate himself into the yakuza family… it was really not an easy task for him because the members of the yakuza family are know to be arrogant and they are not hospitable and they tend to be really resentful towards strangers,I guess that is their own rules…but in reality I guess that it would be extremely difficult for a westerner to to join the yakuza family…

SOME KIND OF SUBLIME CINEMATOGRAPHY.
I feel that the cinematography that was used in the movie was really sublime and there were some scenes that seemed to be little too dark….an example of the scenes that seemed to be little too dark was the prison scenes…but generally the camera settings used in the movie is really impressive..,in the movie there were also some violent scenes too….. there were Lots of gunshots and also knives carving around in the movie…. There was even a scene where a self-mutilation was done…

JARED LETO IS REALLY A SUPERB ACTOR
He was an actor that acted very well in the movie and at some point I forgot that I was watching a movie and I thought this was happening for real and it was not a movie,,he is really a talented actor and I would really love to see more of him

Well I will rate the movie a 7/10…..the movie is interesting and it had a lovely and unique scripts which was used in the movie and it had a good casting too….
