I recommend for beginners to try NOOBS (https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/noobs/).
Maybe our well known "speaker" could make a tutorial with NOOBS.

I've messed around with an Arduino, but the Raspberry sure does have a lot more options for connectivity out of the box with a WiFi & Bluetooth interface. I'm interested in experimenting with some kind of BAN/PAN application/hardware to provide centralized control of bluetooth & network activity around your person with local sensing capabilities.
Der Pi benötigt nicht zwingend ein Ethernet Kabel beim ersten Einrichten. WLAN kann man so ähnlich wie "ssh" direkt einrichten nämlich in der wpa_supplicant.conf welche man direkt in der Boot SD erstellt, somit spart man sich das anschließen des Ethernet Kabels, wenn man nur WLAN nutzen möchte.
Btw. "DietPi" ist ein sehr gutes Betriebssystem für Anfänger und ist deutlich leichtgewichteter als andere Systeme. In DietPi reicht es sogar um WLAN einzurichten die dietpi.txt zu öffnen und dort die entsprechenden Einstellungen vorzunehmen, ohne großartig viel Linux wissen.
Dein Vorschlag wurde ja dann im deutschen Video berücksichtig! ;-)
