Has anyone considered that this terrible shot was supposed to miss? Just saying, Trump will get a big boost from this, and he's not above deadly theatrics.

I can't take anyone seriously when they say "that shot was supposed to miss" or "supposed to clip his ear." It only shows ignorance of the variables involved in shooting.
I would never claim it was supposed to clip his ear, but I wouldn't put Trump above the theatrics of paying a guy to fire over his head.
I don't really think it's likely, but I can't dismiss it.
